Hotel shopping portals are cool too.
I use my favorite hotel portal most of the time as I need to top off my hotel points more often than my airline miles: http://www.marriottrewardsmall.com/
In all seriousness, anybody who buys nearly anything online today needs to check out the airline and hotel portals before making their purchase. By buying through a portal you get extra miles and/or points and they don't cost you one cent extra.
